About Us

About Hear 2 Ear.

Creating safe spaces for conversation, connection and healing. Founded through lived experience, resilience and the belief that nobody should face cancer or emotional struggle alone.

Who We Are

More than a charity.
A community built on conversation.

Hear 2 Ear CIC exists to break the silence around cancer, emotional wellbeing and vulnerability — particularly among men and men of colour, where conversations around illness and mental health are too often avoided.

What began as one man's personal journey through Stage 4 colorectal cancer has grown into a movement focused on support, awareness, openness and community healing.

We believe that conversation can save lives.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer another person is simply the space to speak, be heard and feel understood.

"Many men suffer silently. Especially within communities of colour, conversations around health, cancer and fear are often kept hidden."

Our Story

How Hear 2 Ear began.

In 2022, founder Denzil was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer after months of severe abdominal pain, repeated GP visits and uncertainty.

Just months earlier, he had also lost his brother Carlton to oesophageal cancer — a diagnosis Carlton had kept private from almost everyone around him.

That loss changed everything.

It highlighted a painful reality: many men suffer silently. Especially within communities of colour, conversations around health, cancer, fear and vulnerability are often kept hidden behind strength, pride or fear of judgement.

During his own treatment journey, Denzil began reaching out to family and friends through a WhatsApp group, inviting people to walk with him, talk openly and support one another.

Those conversations became something much bigger.
They became a safe space.

Today, Hear 2 Ear continues that mission by bringing people together through walking groups, awareness campaigns, community events and honest conversations.

Why It Matters

Breaking the silence can save lives.

Cancer affects millions of people and families every year, yet many still struggle to speak openly about their fears, emotions and experiences.

For many men, especially men of colour, emotional isolation can become another battle alongside illness itself.

Hear 2 Ear exists to change that.

Through shared stories, open conversations and community support, we hope to create environments where people feel safe enough to speak honestly, seek support and connect with others who understand.

Because nobody should feel they have to face cancer alone.
